Steam Spring Sale 2026

If you’re like me, someone who finds joy in building efficient conveyor belts or managing empires from the Bronze Age to the space age, then the Steam Spring Sale 2026 is the moment you’ve been waiting for.

The sale runs until March 26, 2026. I’ve combed through Steam’s catalog and found some gems in my favorite genres: automation, strategy, and resource management.

🏭 Automation: For Those Who Love Endless Optimization

If you’ve ever spent 3 hours tweaking your iron-to-copper production ratios without realizing it, welcome to the club.

Game Regular Price Sale Price Discount
Satisfactory $39.99 $27.99 30%
Dyson Sphere Program $19.99 $15.99 20%
shapez 2 $29.99 $20.99 30%

(Note: Factorio is not on sale, per the developer’s policy of never discounting the game.)

Satisfactory is perfect for those who love first-person building with gorgeous graphics. Dyson Sphere Program is for those who want to build mega-structures in space. And shapez 2 is for those who enjoy more abstract automation puzzles.

🎯 Strategy: From Ancient Civilizations to Distant Galaxies

The strategy genre has some seriously tempting discounts this time.

Game Regular Price Sale Price Discount
Civilization V $29.99 $2.99 90%
Civilization VI $59.99 $5.99 90%
Europa Universalis IV $49.99 $4.99 90%
Stellaris $39.99 $9.99 75%
Hearts of Iron IV $49.99 $14.99 70%
Crusader Kings III $49.99 $14.99 70%
Total War: WARHAMMER III $59.99 $14.99 75%
Shadow Tactics $39.99 $3.99 90%
Desperados III $39.99 $9.99 75%
Mount & Blade: Warband $19.99 $4.99 75%

Civilization V and VI for under $6? That’s a steal. Civ V is still considered by many as the best entry in the franchise. Civ VI is more modern with its interesting district system.

For Paradox fans, Europa Universalis IV at $4.99 is a great entry point into grand strategy. Yes, there are many DLCs. But the base game is solid.

Shadow Tactics and Desperados III are brilliant real-time tactics games. Similar to classic Commandos, but with modern polish. At these prices, highly recommended.

📦 Resource Management & Colony Sim

For those who love managing resources and building colonies from scratch.

Game Regular Price Sale Price Discount
Oxygen Not Included $24.99 $7.49 70%
Against the Storm $29.99 $8.99 70%
Timberborn $34.99 $27.99 20%
RimWorld $34.99 $27.99 20%
The Planet Crafter $23.99 $11.99 50%
Don’t Starve Together $14.99 $5.09 66%
Terraria $9.99 $4.99 50%
Kerbal Space Program $39.99 $9.99 75%

Oxygen Not Included at $7.49 is a no-brainer. From Klei Entertainment (makers of Don’t Starve), this colony sim is about managing oxygen, temperature, and your duplicants’ stress levels on an asteroid. Complex but incredibly rewarding.

Against the Storm at $8.99 (70% off) is a unique roguelike city builder. Build settlements, survive storms, repeat. Highly addictive.

Timberborn is only 20% off, but this beaver colony builder is unique and surprisingly deep.

RimWorld is only 20% off, but it’s one of the best colony sims ever made. If you don’t own it yet, 20% off is better than nothing.

🏙️ City Builder

For those who love building and managing their dream cities.

Game Regular Price Sale Price Discount
Anno 1800 $59.99 $14.99 75%
Cities: Skylines $29.99 $8.99 70%

Tropico 6 $39.99 $11.99 70%
Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic $39.99 $9.99 75%

Frostpunk at $4.49 (85% off!) is the best deal in this category. A survival city builder in a frozen apocalypse, where every decision has moral consequences.

Anno 1800 at $14.99 (75% off) is also great. A city builder with complex supply chains set during the industrial revolution.

Manor Lords is 35% off, a medieval city builder with real-time tactics elements.

🎲 Bonus: Roguelike Deckbuilders

These don’t fit the categories above, but they’re too good to skip:

Game Regular Price Sale Price Discount
Slay the Spire $24.99 $6.24 75%
Monster Train $24.99 $4.99 80%
Game Dev Tycoon $9.99 $3.99 60%
Mini Metro $9.99 $4.99 50%

Slay the Spire is the genre-defining roguelike deckbuilder. Monster Train is an equally great alternative with a tower defense twist.

My Recommendations

If budget is tight and you have to choose, here are my priorities:

  1. Frostpunk ($4.49): the best survival city builder, 85% off
  2. Civilization V or VI ($2.99 / $5.99): timeless classics that never disappoint
  3. Slay the Spire ($6.24): perfect for short but addictive sessions
  4. Cities: Skylines ($8.99): the best city builder, 70% off

The sale runs until March 26. Don’t forget to check your wishlist for other great deals.

Happy hunting! 🎮
